I’ve always heard stories about The Rat & Parrot in Grahamstown, South Africa.
But I never believed them until I saw for myself the raucous behaviour that goes on amongst its devoted patrons – 90% of them students from nearby Rhodes University!
Our ‘Crew’ for the night!
Some of the drunk students we captured on film are hilarious and absolutely perfect to truly capture the atmosphere and essence of what you can expect here!
We had so much fun and it was an honour shooting their profile for them.
Everyone there was game and put their best foot forward when the camera was rolling…………. Thank you!
Skybok’s team had the pleasure of filming Mount Nelson’s video profile here in Cape Town, South Africa.
It’s one of my favourite venues we’ve had the pleasure of profiling.
The hotel is home to many international tourists, including movie stars and travelling politicians.
Along with its high teas, it’s well-known for its brand new Planet Bar and its many ballrooms.
Shooting this was very exciting – the staff were extremely friendly and while doing it we got to witness a wedding they were having in their beautiful gardens.

The reason this is one of my favourites is because The Mount Nelson Hotel offers a large variety of services to its guests – it acts as a wedding venue, a function venue, a conference venue and not to mention its fantastic spa!
I record all my voice overs with professional sound engineer Frank Smuts.

I always like to blog about the more interesting places we shoot for Skybok.net……..and, well, there’s no doubt that Zingela Archery in Jeffrey’s Bay is one of them!
It’s hidden along the R102 between Humansdorp and Jeffrey’s Bay in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, and is a very cool spot once you arrive.
I was certainly introduced to a whole new world I never knew existed when we came to shoot their video profile for them.
A fantastic place and a pleasure filming it!
I’ve come to learn that it is, in fact, a huge sport with a massive amount of people who love it.
In my opinion it’s a nice hobby and certainly after filming these people doing it, I paid more attention to the archery at The Olympics!
Here are some other blog posts about Zingela Archery from popular blogs:

This quaint 78-seater theatre located in Kalk Bay, Cape Town, was actually originally an old Dutch Reformed Church.
It was built in 1876 and is a heritage protected building.
Going there to shoot for Skybok was super – we got great weather and shooting their video didn’t take too long.
I personally love the red interior and the upstairs where patrons can eat dinner before the show.
I think it’s a super idea – dinner and a show at the same venue.
The theatre is constantly showing new and popular theatre pieces….and the idea is that patrons arrive from 6:30pm and, after reserving their theatre seats, are directed upstairs to the restaurant.
There is a set menu and the food is mainly served before the show but drinks and dessert are served after the performance.
Patrons make their way down to the theatre when the show is due to start.
Drinks may be taken into the theatre but there is no service in the theatre during the show.
We loved the owners – very friendly and professional people.
Here is their website if you’re interested in finding out more about the theatre or the shows which are currently showing there (you will also see Skybok’s logo featured on the website, directing visitors to check out their video profile, which is really nice!) —–> THE KALK BAY THEATRE

Algoa FM is the the biggest commercial radio station from the Garden Route to the Wild Coast on 94 to 97fm.
I love the place. It’s chic & fresh and it felt rejuvenating to walk through the station filming.
We got to meet one of their most popular DJs, Lance Du Plessis, and what a fantastic guy! Easy-going and professional, he does a great job on air and has a successful reputation and a big following here in the Bay.
Everything went very smoothly on the day…. we got Lance doing his show and also some really nice shots around the station.
We didn’t get to shoot their boardroom as there was a meeting there on the day, but you can check out my blog post HERE for some snaps of it as well as some snaps I took around the station while we shot.
In my opinion everyone working there is fun-loving and hard-working.
I love the position of the station….The Boardwalk here in PE….it’a a very beautiful complex right on the beachfront. It must be a fantastic place to go to work every day! They also have a very cool website – check it out by clicking HERE.
Enjoyed shooting the video profile of the 1820 Settlers National Monument in Grahamstown, South Africa! Grahamstown is a town on the East Coast of the country, known for its brilliant university “Rhodes” as well as for its annual Grahamstown National Arts Festival.
We shot Melissa’s in Newlands Cape Town and had a lot of fun! Melissa’s is very well-known for their baked goods. This cute coffee shop (one of a few they have around Cape Town) has lots to offer from Breakfast to Lunch to Afternoon Tea, and you can browse through their store while you wait for your food.
